Safe is Risky, Revisiting the Purple Cow

I'm rereading Purple Cow: Transform Your Business By Being Remarkable by Seth Godin. In the well-written book, one of the core ideas is that "safe is risky" because playing it safe means you try to be like everyone else. Seth believes such uniformity kills businesses and careers.
It's always interesting to watch companies and individuals push the boundaries. One of my favorite bloggers, Olivier Blanchard, recently wrote about how he took a risk and the path less traveled.
I highly recommend Seth's book, Olivier's blog and taking a few chances of your own in 2007.
