Learn

A passion for learning was instilled in me from a young age (thanks Mom & Dad!). That passion took me to the University of Washington on a full scholarship and will likely take me to grad school eventually.

In the meantime, it feeds a lot of what I spend my time on -- from running a company that researches the future of financial technology to my social media research (the studies) to my recent efforts to learn Mandarin Chinese and Spanish (I've decided one language per year is enough so I'm focusing only on Spanish in 2010).

My love of learning also plays out in my voracious media consumption (The Economist & TED videos are favorites), frequent traveling (next up working from Costa Rica for all of January 2010) and occasional book buying binges (fortunately Amazon.com doesn't judge me).
